We are officially EFILE and CRA certified. By using CRA’s EFILE, we file each tax return in its entirety so you can get your refund as fast as possible. We are not able to file taxes for residents outside of Canada or residents of Quebec.
Our Tax Filing Process
Complete the New Client Form
We start by having you fill out our New Client Form (found below) to collect your basic information needed for preparing your tax return.Authorize CRA Access
Next, we’ll ask you to sign an authorization form, which allows us to securely access your CRA online account.Gather Your Documents
We download your tax forms and collaborate with you via email to ensure all necessary slips, receipts, and documents are included.Review Your Tax Summary
Once your return is prepared, we’ll email you a summary of the results, including your refund amount or balance owing.Approve and Authorize Filing
If you’re satisfied with the results, we’ll send you a final authorization form to allow us to file your return. We’ll also provide your invoice at this stage.Receive Confirmation and Summary
After receiving payment and the signed documents, we’ll confirm the submission and file the return. We’ll also send you a copy of your T1 Summary for your records.
Frequently Asked Questions
A basic personal tax return starts at $80. We charge an extra $150 for rental schedule and $250 for self-employment schedules.
We accept payments from Debit and Credit Card (through Quickbooks invoices), Cash and E-transfers via payments@yaletownaccounting.com.
A Notice of Assessment is a document provided from CRA when you have filed your tax return to explain how it was processed. Your Assessment
· Detailed document on how your tax return was processed.
· Sent to you either by mail of can be found on your CRA My Account
· Document that the CRA sends you after you file your taxes. It shows how much income you made, how much you paid and how much tax you owe (if any)
· Check CRA account or
· Email office and we will be happy to provide that information.
· Different ways to access Notice of Assessment
o If you have chosen the mail option, they will mail you a copy.
o You can call CRA to have them re-issue it
· You can request to send this information by mail. On your tax return you have the option in receiving your notice by mail.
· You can also call them to have it re-mailed.
· Account allows you to view your notice of assessment, view missing slips and make adjustments too your account.
· You can view all slips, T4, T5, etc. before waiting for them in the mail or from employees.
· In order to register you need the following information:
o Full name
o Full address
o Date of Birth
o Social Insurance Number
· Personal account used to manage taxes, benefits and credits.
· Online portal where you can access all your tax and benefits information. You can use it to check your refund status and manage your benefits payments.
· View previous assessments, make changes to your past returns, as well as view all latest notices and letters from CRA.
· Need to login to the CRA website and enter your username and password.
· Need to login to your CRA business account and enter your business number, account number and security code.
· Step 1: Click sign-in Partner Login/Registration
· Step 2: Login to your online banking using this as verification.
· Step 3: Enter your sin number, date of birth and current postal code.
· Step 4: Agree to the terms and you will receive your login details.
· Step 1: Open the CRA website and click on CRA Register
· Step 2: you will need to enter your SIN number.
· Step 3: Enter your postal code, birth date & information from your return (usually line 15000- total income)
· Step 4: The CRA will then mail you an access code within 10 days.
· Step 5: Confirm your postal code and then click next.
· Step 6: Make a User ID, password, confirm password and click next.
· Step 7: You will need to make security questions and answers.
· Step 8: Agree to the terms and conditions.

· You can login to your CRA account and check the status of your tax return
· The deadline to file personal returns is April 30th, only if you owe money.
· If you are self-employed and you owe taxes, the tax is due April 30th. The business tax return itself is not due until June 15th.
· If you have a refund, then you do not need to file by April 30th.
· Our office can set up direct deposit with the client sending us a void cheque.
· You can also call the CRA to add direct deposit.
o The following information is needed to do so:
§ SIN number
§ Full name
§ Current address including postal code.
· GST credit is a non-taxable amount paid four times a year to individuals and families with lower income to help offset the good and services sales tax that they pay.
